I came across an isolated bass recording of James Jamerson on YouTube recently, and decided that there couldn't be a better transcription project than that. One of the greatest bassists of all time, solo'd on a classic track so that I could hear every note? Manna from above.
The only downside is that the isolated track is from an alternate take, not from the album release of the tune. This isn't really a problem though. Jamerson's playing is equally great on both takes, and hearing him in isolation is kinda the greatest thing ever.
